Details »Smithville Tn. is a small but growing city. It is the county seat of Dekalb County and is located in the center of the county. Smithville is surrounded by the cities of Lebanon, Cookeville, Sparta and McMinnville.
While small in population it grows each year during the 4th of July as it hosts the famous Smithville Fiddler's Jamboree. Begun in 1972, this annual event draws an estimated 100,000 people from all over the world during it's 2 day event. It's a must see when visiting on the 4th of July. Dekalb County is also home to Center Hill Lake along with several country music stars.
Smithville conatins two funeral homes, Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and Dekalb Funeral Chapel. It also has one hospital, Ascension St. Thomas Dekalb.
